Why do you answer these questions?

Posted on Aug 8th, 2008 by heemes : Philosophy Minor, Life Major heemes
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 08, 2008:

I used to be quite fastidious about QaR, enjoying the exchange of thoughts with people.  I especially loved Dave's Crayons response about a month ago.

I seek connection to source energy.  Sometimes, by going inside and sharing what's there, it oozes out like a primordial lava flow.  Other times, it becomes an exercise in futility; my reach exceeding my grasp.

But it is impossible to know which outcome, or something in between, until I do make the journey...

These questions call me forth.

Have you ever met someone from Gaia offline?

Posted on Aug 9th, 2008 by heemes : Philosophy Minor, Life Major heemes
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 09, 2008:

There are only three Gaian "friends" that I've ever even met.
  1. Rodrigo
  2. Tom
  3. Janet
Rodrigo is almost never on Gaia, so we don't relate here.  Tom is one of Warrior friends from back in the Midwest; he's had a big influence on me even though we haven't seen each other in years.

Janet is by far the most active Gaian of these three.  We flit around each other, sending grapes occasionally, showing support when it seems needed or requested.  Yet we haven't seen each other in person in about 9 years.

I am looking for my family here on Gaia.

What Kind of Thinker Am I? (hint: Cogito ergo sum...)

Posted on Aug 9th, 2008 by heemes : Philosophy Minor, Life Major heemes
I followed a bunch of friends here; I'll go back and comment on each of their blogs, just so they know I'm reading.

You are an Existential Thinker
Existential thinker Existential thinkers:
  • Like to spend time thinking about philosophical issues such as "What is the meaning of life?"
  • Try to see beyond the 'here and now', and understand deeper meanings
  • consider moral and ethical implications of problems as well as practical solutions
Like existential thinkers, Leonardo questioned man's role in the universe. Many of his paintings explored the relationship between man and God. Other Existential Thinkers include
The Buddha, Gandhi, Plato, Socrates, Martin Luther King

Careers which suit Existential Thinkers include
Philosopher, Religious leader, Head of state, Artist, Writer

What have you been paying attention to?

Posted on Aug 10th, 2008 by heemes : Philosophy Minor, Life Major heemes
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 10, 2008:

I've been paying attention to positive and negative feedback (because it's really all good).

I've been focusing on who I am, who I am perceived to be, and gaps between...

I've been aware of humor, teaching others, metaphysical reality, family, and healing.

Yesterday marks one year on Gaia for heemes!

Posted on Aug 18th, 2008 by heemes : Philosophy Minor, Life Major heemes
How I missed it, I don't know!

I'd like one comment, in the form of just one word well chosen words, from each of my friends!

All non-commenters may be deleted from my Friends list, because, well, because it isn't too friendly to ignore a friend's request.

The good news is I won't close off comments until next year's anniversary!  LOL

Gotta scoot, dear ones!

What, in this moment, is bringing you joy?

Posted on Aug 24th, 2008 by heemes : Philosophy Minor, Life Major heemes
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 24, 2008:

I read Centria's post on the matter.  Eloquence, thy name is Kathy.  She, like a few others, captures so much meaning in so few words; I read her routinely, even if I don't comment.

I am on an adventure.  It is one worth my life.  I am, as Teddy Roosevelt said, the man in the arena

Monday (tomorrow) I start a new work assignment.  I'll be working at a Top 5 web search engine firm, returning to the career I've dedicated 12 years of my life.  I am going to be making more money than I ever have since moving to Arizona.

I have increased my cell phone minutes so can be less concerned with when I communicate and more focused on who and what the message is being exchanged.

In December, I will have a full benefits package for the first time since 2001.

I am in the presence of joy regardless of outward indicators because, frankly, my life is bringing me joy.  Thanks to Gaia, more than ever, I'm happy to share the ride.

free ride - edgar winter
