A New Game, Play Along with me, The Adjacent Friend Game

The Adjacent Friend Game (italicized parts have been changed from original post)
1. Go to http://www.gaia.com/people
2. Your picture will be near the top left corner (trust me, I know these things).
3. Moving in any direction, find the first Gaian profile that is not already your friend.
4. Send a friend request to them!
5. Comment back here once you've connected with your new friend!
I just did this right before writing this blog. Let's see if my new friend arrives soon!

TWB, you must have been logged on for a long time before you got around to this blog. If you log off, then log back in again really fast, I’ll bet things will change for ya! Come on, it’s fun!

When you type the words to your comment, you see the toolbar directly above the area you’re writing in. The last icon on the right, or the other left, LOL, is for creating hyperlinks like the one Siona did… Play with it, it’s easy and fun in its own right!
How do I do what I did with mine? I just highlighted the word mine and used the link in the edit bar to link to Pine Cone’s profile. Is that what you meant? And she accepted. :)
Who did you get?
Very entertaining. I found someone who isn’t one but three someones which leads to the Diving Deeper group (I still want to call them pods) which lives in the house that Jack built…
Ahh, Tink! Thanks for the positivity, appreciate the cross promotion as well. I’ve heard nothing but good things about the DD pod group, which I occasionally lurk on.
On a personal note regarding your “Jack” reference, I love nursery rhymes and am writing letters to my nieces and nephews, one each per day, to assure I stay in connection with my own young at heart persona.
Finally, I did change the elements in the original blog that assert a top left position for each person’s original profile. It turns out, based on TWB’s experience and sharing, that, as with most things, your mileage may vary.
Hi Paul, a very weird synchronicity this morning. I looked at the name of a certain person and thought: this person looks like somebody very interesting.
Then saw your post & went to play. I wasn’t in the left hand corner either (had just turned on the machine) but decided to pick the very first person who wasn’t my friend. And it was the very same person whom I had just thought about!!
How fun. The Universe is playing along…
interestingly enough….the person I befriended this morning is one of your friends. I’ll let you know if she accepts.
Centria/Kathy, I just modified the instructions (see italicized elements) to include the possibility of non-left hand corner results. Wherever you go, there you are.
And oh yes, the Universe always plays along. But sometimes, just sometimes, the Universe insists on winning! :-)

Paul, what a fun idea! I didn’t find myself in the top left either, but rather than logging out and back in and making that a prerequisite, I just found my icon a little further down on the page, and went from there.
Mine not only turned out to be someone I genuinely feel resonance with, but a new member, as well. Bonus!

Ladybear declined, but with a very sweet and lovely message. She wishes to keep her friend list short, but also considers all Gaians her friend. I understand the need to keep online life from becoming overwhelming!
However, in the meantime I received a beautiful and warm invitation from Amazume (Nell), which I accepted! Looking at her profile and pictures, I’m so happy to have connected with her - we have a lot in common and I like her already.

In the matter of an overwhelming online life, have you checked out the notion of an RSS feed for Gaia? I like it a LOT.
Feel free to use the acronym, heemes, it’s partly why I chose to go by the name of Silly Old Bear (some times that is exactly what I am). The other reason is Pooh Bear of course - but mostly it’s because it’s what my wife calls me when I am being stupid in a good way…*lol*
