Revelation: An Ego-Driven World Looks Like...

Per Eckhart Tolle in A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose, an ego-driven world has three types of relationships in it, categorized like this:
1. Wanting (i.e. What do I want from you?)
2. Thwarted Wanting (i.e. If I'm not getting what I want from you, but I might, what do I feel? [possible answers are anger, resentment, blaming, or complaining])
3. Indifference (i.e. If I'm not getting what I want from you and I know I won't, then I just don't care about you)
In my life, how many relationships of the past could be summarized this way? Countless.
This is a continuation of my conscious evolution here on Gaia (and gaia.com). In fact, I'll link from there to here!

Help

I'm reading that book also. Haven't had enough time to finish it but so far it has reminded me a lot about how my own perception has damaged the outcome of my relationships with others.
I'm New to Gaia so if this comment is irrelevant then I'm truly sorry! lol
I love your courage and honesty Paul, hugs, and TM, you too and welcome
Thanks, TM and Gael, for the comments.
More observations from the book and my thoughts around it.
Awareness is a key, then the ego falls away because there is no opposition, no other. Another key is I am not my thoughts, words or actions. But there is something uniquely available when these are all in alignment.
It is, for lack of a better word, love. Or, to use a phrase, love is all that is.
Very nice. I absolutely love Eckhart Tolle's work. It is always nice to see others continuing to evolve spiritually as a result. It keeps me focused as well.
We help each other, don't we, David? With gentle reminders in a space of forgetting.
Maybe this is where a New Earth springs forth. From a no-want mutual peaceful co-existence.
Hurray for conscious evolution! I like what you just said about helping each other. With gentle reminders…and space for forgetting…and perhaps remembering who & what we truly are. Thanks for this post. I do like Mr. Eckhart.
It's all part of the divine plan, Centria. Or is it a choice? Could it be both? :-)
